We live in turbulent times

The business environment of today has become more turbulent than ever before. In our interconnected world, global threats can disrupt businesses much faster and have cascading impacts across operations, stakeholders, and geographies. How well businesses manage crises matters.

Build your Resilience

In this heightened operating environment, organizational resilience is a business imperative and one of the top line concerns of the Management and the Board. From geopolitical tensions to cyberattacks and supply chain challenges, the nature of crises have become more complicated and organisations must be prepared to manage crises quickly.

Preparedness is crucial

Preparedness is key. A well-designed crisis management programme is vital. Crisis plans must be actionable, roles clearly defined, and teams regularly exercised. Continuous improvement through scenario testing and reviews ensures organisations stay ready to respond with agility.

Crisis Preparedness : Approach
From Grey Rhino to Black Swan events, every corporation meets with some form of crisis at some point in time, it is only a matter of when. Our PAR (Prepare, Act, Recover) approach to managing a crisis is guided by ISO 22361:2022 and wraps around the phases of a crisis.
1. Prepare - Before The Crisis
Proactive preparation is essential to reduce vulnerability and enhance organisational resilience in responding to a crisis. The process assesses current preparedness level and audits current management strategies, understands the gaps and vulnerabilities before moving to design scenarios to stress test, train and prepare the team members to build confidence.
2. Act - During the crisis
When a crisis unfolds, having a crisis management team that is clear and well-oiled on their respective roles, and how quickly they can sensemake the situation is half the battle won. In the scenario exercise, the focus will be on drilling the team on their crisis plans, teamwork and coordination. This involves exercising the team to be effective in executing/developing mitigation plans under pressure, challenging assumptions, taking decisions and communicating with stakeholders.
3. recover - post crisis
The post crisis recovery is an important phase that is often glossed over as corporations seek to resume BAU. Debriefs will be conducted to capture precious lessons learnt and identify gaps for improvements. It is also an important juncture to reinforce the organizational strengths displayed during the scenario exercise and institutionalise the gems into the crisis playbook for future readiness.
